2023年の個展「Temporary Things」で展示した作品を中心に、そこから漏れてしまった写真も合わせて、一冊にまとめました。
デザインは zkmk くんにお願いしました。本職はデザイナーですが、写真を撮って展示をしたり、自分でZINEをつくったりと、多彩に活動している人です。お酒も好きで、酒場のカウンターに立っていることもあります。
インタビューの冊子も同封しています。取材はスリムオーガニック君、構成は仁田さやかさん。スリムオーガニック君は大学時代からの友人で、僕にとってはカルチャー方面のメンターのような存在です。アンテナが鋭く、彼の興味にずっと影響を受け続けています。仁田さんは彼のパートナーで、普段からこうしたインタビューの構成を仕事にされている方です。
冊子の製本は、古着のリメイクをしている友人のでけたさんに、ミシンでお願いしました。赤い糸で縫製してもらいました。
本に登場してくれた被写体の皆さんも、それぞれ何かしら自分の制作に携わっている人ばかりです。最終ページにスペシャルサンクスとして記載させてもらいました。
こうして、自分の力ではなく周りの人の力を借りて、一冊になりました。多くの人に見てもらえたら嬉しいです。
A book built around the works shown in Temporary Things (2023), together with photographs that didn’t make it into the exhibition.
Designed by zkmk. His main work is design, but he also photographs, exhibits, and makes his own zines — and now and then he can be found behind the counter of a bar.
A separate interview booklet comes with it. The interview was conducted by Slim Organic and edited by Sayaka Nitta. Slim Organic has been a friend since university and is something of a cultural mentor to me; his instincts are sharp, and what he takes an interest in has kept shaping what I look at. Sayaka is his partner, and edits interviews like this one for a living.
The booklet was hand-bound on a sewing machine by my friend Deketa, who remakes vintage clothing — stitched together with red thread.
Everyone who appears in the book is making something of their own, in one form or another. Their names are listed as special thanks on the last page.
So this book came together through other people rather than through me alone. I hope it reaches as many hands as possible.
